The annual Ironworker Festival is held at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. The annual event celebrates and honors Ironworkers with a skills competition, food, music and more. Generations of Akwesasne have traveled across North America to build the vital infrastructure and support their families. Mohawk ironworkers are known for their hard work and dedication to the trade. They helped build New York’s World Trade Center, assisted in cleaning up the site after destruction, and helped build the new one.
