Akwesasne Travel Receives New York State Tourism Excellence Award

This year’s New York State Tourism Excellence Awards include multiple new awards categories to acknowledge the critical work done in advancing the areas of sustainability, DEAI (diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion), international marketing, travel itineraries, and promoting the great outdoors of New York State. Akwesasne Travel was selected for Excellence in Sustainable Stewardship: Champions of Change.

The 2023 Art Market and Juried Show, presented by Akwesasne Travel, brought nearly 1500 community members and visitors to Generations Park on Sunday, July 2 for a vibrant showcase of the arts. Heat and humidity did not dampen spirits, as attendees eagerly experienced phenomenal art works, live performances, and demonstrations throughout the day.

Beaded Cradleboard Wins Top Prize at 2023 Art Market & Juried Show

The 2023 Art Market and Juried Show, presented by Akwesasne Travel, brought nearly 1500 community members and visitors to Generations Park on Sunday, July 2 for a vibrant showcase of the arts. Akwesasne was selected as one of 25 T-Mobile Hometown Grant winners: the grant funding will be applied to a special Smoke Dance Sculpture art installation and landscaping for Sken:nen Park West. Sken:nen park is located in the heart of downtown Akwesasne, along Route 37. Sken:nen Park is part of a downtown revitalization initiative that began pre-covid, led by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s cultural tourism division.
